Arabic Vocabulary | Singular & Plural Noun | Family Member
Today, we are going to learn plural form of family member in Arabic.
Below are the list of family members in singular form and plural form, then I include them with sentence example.
Family members in Arabic: Singular and Plural form
Father = أَبٌ
Fathers = آبَاءٌ
Sentence example:
جِئْتُ مَعَ أَبِي
I came with my father.
mother = أُمٌّ
mothers = أُمَّهَاتٌ
sentence example:
ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى السُّوقِ مَعَ أُمِّي
I went to the market with my mother.
grandfather = جَدٌّ
grandfathers = أَجْدَادٌ
sentence example:
يُسَمَّى أَبُو الأَبِ وَأَبُو الأُمِّ جَدٌّ
Father of the father and mother is called grandfather.
grandmother = جَدَّةٌ
grandmothers = جَدَّاتٌ
sentence example:
يُسَمَّى أُمُّ الأَبِ وَأُمُّ الأُمِّ جَدَّةٌ
Mother of the father and mother is called grandmother.
son = اِبْنُ
sons = أَبْنَاءٌ
sentence example:
أَنَا اِبْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ
I'm Muhammad's son.
daughter = بِنْتٌ
daughters = بَنَاتٌ
sentence example:
هِيَ بِنْتُ زَيْدٍ
She is Zaid's daughter.
grandson = حَفِيْدٌ
grandsons = أَحْفَادٌ
sentence example:
هَذَا حَفِيْدِي
This is my grandson.
granddaughter = حَفِيْدَةٌ
granddaughters = حَفِيْدَاتٌ
sentence example:
هَذِهِ حَفِيْدَتِي
This is my granddaughter.
brother = أَخٌ
brothers = إِخْوَانٌ
sentence example:
لِي أَخٌ كَبِيْرٌ
I have one older brother
sister = أُخْتٌ
sisters = أَخَوَاتٌ
sentence example:
لَعِبْتُ مَعَ أُخْتِي
I played with my sister.
