Want & Like in Arabic Language with Sentence Examples

Today, I will show you the new Arabic vocabularies. There are two verbs which are explained here, they are:  want and like. I will write the verb conjugation then write the sentence examples.

Want in Arabic and it's conjugation

Verb "want" in Arabic is: أرَادَ - يُرِيْدُ (araada - yuriidu).


أَرَادَ is fi'il maaḍii ( الفعل الماضي ) or past tense, therefore أَرَادَ (araada) means wanted.

يُرِيْدُ is fi'il muḍaari' ( الفعل المضارع ) or present tense, therefore يُرِيْدُ (yuriidu) means want.

تَصْرِيْف الفِعل (verb conjugation) for أرَادَ (araada)

هُوَ : أَرَادَ

هُمَا : أَرَادَا

هُمْ : أَرَادُوا

هِيَ : أَرَادَتْ

هُمَا : أَرَادَتَا

هُنَّ : أَرَدْنَ

أَنْتَ : أَرَدْتَ

أَنْتُمَا : أَرَدْتُمَا

أَنْتُمْ : أَرَدْتُم

أَنْتِ : أَرَدْتِ

أَنْتُمَا : أَرَدْتُمَا

أَنْتُنَّ : أَرَدْتُنَّ

أَنَا : أَرَدْتُ

نَحْنُ : أَرَدْنَا

هُمَا : يُرِيدَانِ

Like in Arabic and it's conjugation

Verb "like" in Arabic: أحَبَّ - يُحِبُّ (ahabba - yuhibbu).


أحَبَّ is fi'il maaḍii ( الفعل الماضي ) or past tense, therefore أحَبَّ (ahabba) means liked.

يُحِبُّ is fi'il muḍaari' ( الفعل المضارع ) or present tense, therefore يُحِبُّ (yuhibbu) means like.

تَصْرِيْف الفِعل (verb conjugation) for أحَبَّ (ahabba).

هُوَ : أحَبَّ

هُمَا : أَحَبَّا

هُمْ : أَحَبُّوا

هِيَ : أَحَبَّتْ

هُمَا : أَحَبَّتَا

هُنَّ : أَحْبَبْنَ

أَنْتَ : أَحْبَبْتَ

أَنْتُمَا : أَحْبَبْتُمَا

أَنْتُمْ : أَحْبَبْتُم

أَنْتِ : أَحْبَبْتِ

أَنْتُمَا : أَحْبَبْتُمَا

أَنْتُنَّ : أَحْبَبْتُنَّ

أَنَا : أَحْبَبْتُ

نَحْنُ : أَحْبَبْنَا

Sentence Examples using verb want and like in Arabic 

a: أَأَنْتَ جَائِعٌ ؟
Are you hungry?

b: نَعَمْ. أَنَا جَائِعٌ
Yes. I'm hungry.

a: مَاذَا تُرِيْدُ أَنْ تَأْكُلْ ؟
What do you want to eat?

b: أُرِيْدُ أَنْ آكُلَ خُبْزًا, وَأَنْتَ مَاذَا تُرِيْدُ ؟
I want to eat bread, and you, what do you want?

a: أَنَا أُرِيْدُ أَنْ آكُلَ مَوزًا
I want to eat banana.

b: مَاذَا تُحِبُّ أَنْ تَشْرَبَ؟
What do you like to drink?

a: أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَشْرَبَ عَصِيْرًا,وَأَنْتَ مَاذَا تُحِبُّ ؟
I like to drink juice, and you, what do you like?

b: أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَشْرَبَ قَهْوَةً
I like to drink coffee.
