Today, we are learning Durusul lughah book 2, chapter 4. The subject is لِأَنَّ

"because" in Arabic

The rules of لِأَنَّ

1. لِأَنَّ means "because"

2. لِأَنَّ is a sister of إِنَّ , therefore it's rule is the same with إِنَّ

Note:

لِأَنَّ is لِ + أَنَّ

You can review the rules of إِنَّ here

3. Here is the rule:

The noun after لِأَنَّ is mansub (مَنْصُوب), whereas the khabar of لِأَنَّ is marfu' (مرفوع).

The sentence examples

- I didn't go out because the weather is cold.

مَا خَرَجْتُ لِأَنَّ الجَوَّ بَارِدٌ

* الجَوَّ = ism لِأَنَّ , mansub, the sign of it's nasab is fat-hah "a"

* بَارِدٌ = khabar لِأَنَّ , marfu', the sign of it's rafa' is dammah "u"

Notes:

- ism لِأَنَّ can be damir muttasil.

Example:

ذَهَبَ زَيْدٌ إِلَى المُسْتَشْفَى لِأَنَّهُ مَرِيْضٌ

Zaid went to the hospital because he is sick.

* هُ = damir muttasil mabniy, it's position is as ism لِأَنَّ mansub.

* مَرِيْضٌ = khabar لِأَنَّ marfu', the sign of it's rafa is dammah "u"

Notes:

Fa'il has an agreement with ism لِأَنَّ.

See the example : ذَهَبَ زَيْدٌ إِلَى المُسْتَشْفَى لِأَنَّهُ مَرِيْضٌ

The fa'il (فَاعل) is زَيْدٌ , therefore ism لِأَنَّ is damir muttasil هُ which indicates هُوَ
